The Dutch playboy is being accused of trying to extort more than $250,000 from the late Natalee Holloway’s family for information about her murder.
The result, says US Attorney Joyce White Vance, is one count of wire fraud and one count of extortion.
Joran claimed he had information about Holloway’s death and the location of her remains and attempted to get her family to pay him for the details.
