Cheryl Cole On the Mend

She recently contracted malaria during her trip to Tanzania, and Cheryl Cole is currently hospitalized as she recovers from the disease.

The “X Factor” babe traveled to the African country with her good friend Derek Hough of “Dancing with the Stars,” however when she collapsed during a photo shoot on Saturday, Ms. Cole was rushed to the emergency room.

Cheryl was first thought to be suffering from exhaustion, but her fever and other symptoms led doctors to discover she had malaria.

Cole’s rep told press, “Cheryl Cole is currently in hospital, being treated for malaria. Following doctors’ advice she will be cancelling all work commitments for the next week.”
