He’s always been a big fan of helping out the less fortunate, and George Clooney is set to be honored for his efforts at the Emmy Awards next month.
The “Ocean’s Eleven” actor will be given the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award for his “Hope for Haiti” telethon at the upcoming awards show on August 29th.
Academy of Television Arts and Sciences chairman John Shaffner told press George was “an obvious choice” for the trophy due to his use of television to gather interest and support for the charity.
Clooney is also responsible for helping raise awareness about the tragedies in Darfur as well as the disaster of Hurricane Katrina.
